Canopy is a fabric wing. It is really hard, if not impossible to measure it’s glide ratio, speed and descent rate. And even if measured – every move in the harness would change these parameters.
SpotAssist has 3 major preset categories:
Student: large, slow both forward and down.
Advanced: Sport canopies smaller than 190.
Pro: Cross-braced canopies, which have a nice boost to glide ratio due to the more rigid wing(cross-braced cells)
You can also define your own canopy, if you know these parameters. This feature is for military jumpers, who still jump round or semi-round canopies, with known characteristics
